LCWR and CMSM held their annual assemblies in Denver, Colorado
Approximately 800 LCWR and CMSM members gathered for the 2008 assembly
Archbishop Charles Chaput welcomed the assembly participants to archdiocese of Denver
CMSM president Tom Picton, CSSR and LCWR president Mary Whited, CPPS opened the assembly
Regional chairs Mark Padrez, OP and Catherine Mueller, SL extended greetings to the assembly on behalf of the religious in the area
Keynoter Elizabeth Johnson, CSJ addressed the assembly on "The Banquet of the Creed"
Richard Rohr, OFM spoke on the key role of contemplation in religious life
Hank Lemoncelli, OMI and Archbishop Jean Franco Gardin, from the staff of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life (CICLSAL), presided at the Eucharistic liturgy on August 3
A choir made up of members of various Denver parishes provided the music for the opening ritual and the Eucharistic liturgy
During the prayer on the final day, LCWR board members blessed each assembly participant.

During the transition of leadership ritual, the assembly blessed J. Lora Dambroski, OSF, president; Marlene Weisenbeck, FSPA, president-elect; and Mary Whited, CPPS, past president
The assembly also thanked Carole Shinnick, SSND, outgoing LCWR executive director, for her more than six years of service, and blessed and welcomed Jane Burke, SSND who assumed the role of executive director
The assembly elected Ellen Dauwer, SC (left) as secretary, while the national board appointed Pam Chiesa, PBVM (right) as treasurer
