We begin the season of Lent open to the transformation God has begun in our conference. Faithful to our LCWR Call we have been embracing critical change by attending to the internal organizational changes that our conference requires. The new LCWR Board has been elected and gathered for the first time in February. Carole Shinnick, SSND has been serving generously during this in-between time as interim Executive Director and we continue to explore the governance shifts that will embrace the call to change and preserve our culture of communal discernment and contemplation.
The search to identify the next Executive Director for our conference has now integrated a discernment element which resonates well with who we are becoming. We have come to realize that our next Executive Director needs to be invited to leadership by our own members and associates. A gentle call to discern this position from someone who both understands what is needed at this time and recognizes those gifts in another creates a sacred moment that opens many possibilities.
We invite leaders, leadership teams, and our LCWR associates to engage in a discernment to identify those women you feel have the gifts needed for this time and reach out to them by March 22, 2018. As we have all experienced, a call to leadership is always a nudge of the spirit that requires an openness to hold the possibility. After this initial discernment, if the sister you invited remains open to continue discerning please contact Carole Shinnick in the LCWR National Office (cshinnick@lcwr.org). The search committee will reach out and continue the discernment with the sister you have identified. Your involvement as members and associates is critical at this time and we appreciate every effort of discernment and encouragement you will make.
Please watch the video below describing this process. You may also download all the relevant materials below.
May our Lenten journey of transformation gently open our conference to embrace the critical changes that are required of us at this time.
Sincerely,
Teresa Maya, CCVI -- LCWR President
Sharlet Wagner, CSC -- LCWR President-Elect
Mary Pellegrino, CSJ -- LCWR Past President
