The Journey Through Middle Space

by Sharon Holland, IHM -- LCWR President

Winter 2015: Leadership in the Middle Space

$5.00

In her address at the 2014 LCWR assembly Nancy Schreck, OSF explored the concept of living and ministering in what she termed “the middle space.”  As she noted, religious life is currently in a middle passage with “the in-breaking of something new, of major shifts in world view, our cosmology, with the concurrent breakdown of so much of what is familiar.” The Winter 2015 issue of Occasional Papers will explore the challenges of embracing religious life in the middle space and the potential of these times.

The Consoling Mystery of God-With-Us

by Sharon Holland, IHM -- LCWR President

As the last days of Advent move steadily on toward Christmas, the ancient O Antiphons enter our Evening Prayer expressing our longings and desires. As I reflected on them, I was aware that they could well be prayed in any season.

O Wisdom!  Come, teach us the ways of truth. Show those who govern in church and in civil society what is good for the people. Come to Syria, Yemen, West Africa, and to countless unknown
places.

Resolutions to Action - Fall 2014

by Joan Brown, OSF

"Hello, I am the President of the North Valley Neighborhood Association (Albuquerque, NM). We want to honor New Mexico Interfaith Power and Light and St. Therese Catholic School with our Good Neighbor Award,” the cheery voice said.

“Thank you so much, but, why?” I asked.

“That was such a good thing that you and the Catholic grade school did to install solar panels. It was such a visionary and public witness for our neighborhood.”
