Resources for Contemplative Engagement
LCWR both promotes and practices leadership from a contemplative stance. This understanding of leadership is characterized by an ability to wait, listen deeply, trust in process, and be comfortable with paradox and mystery. In these times of great uncertainty, LCWR encourages leaders to grow in their capacity to live and lead confidently and peacefully in the midst of mystery. Such leadership fosters creativity, flexibility, and the strength to survive and thrive in today’s world of continuous growth and change.
We offer a number of resources here that can help people to foster capacities for contemplative engagement. These resources encourage practices that grow our capacities to quiet our minds, listen attentively, deepen our concentration, and engage with greater compassion so that we can live and lead effectively and stay focused on what matters most. These resources include:
- "Contemplation As a Way of Being in the World" an essay available below
- Information on contemplative dialogue which includes a video of an actual group session of contemplative dialogue
- "The Many Faces of Contemplative Engagement" - a series of documents exploring leadership and contemplative engagement
- Information on LCWR Deepening Groups (for LCWR members)
