More than 350 leaders, justice promoters, and communicators from LCWR institutes participated in one of two sessions of the new LCWR initiative, Transforming Grace. The recording below is of the December 5, 2023 session.
This initiative is designed to assist religious institutes in their work to involve their members in the work of transforming and healing the world. Based on the principles of the evolution of consciousness and the belief that humanity is on the threshold of a major shift of consciousness, the initiative seeks to fully involve women religious in helping this movement forward for the sake of all life on the planet. The initiative builds on the elements already present in religious life including contemplation, a life based on gospel values, and the skills learned in a communal life and applies them to the work of building a more just and peaceful world.
The sessions, offered on December 5 and 11, provided formation in understanding the levels of consciousness, the call to women religious to assist in the movement of consciousness to the next level, and the roles that those in leadership, communications, and justice work within religious institutes can play. The attendees had opportunities to be in groups according to their roles and in mixed groups to share initial ideas on how to bring this initiative to life in their own congregations. LCWR staff members Carol Zinn, SSJ; Bridget Bearss, RSCJ; and Annmarie Sanders, IHM provided the input and facilitation for the sessions.
